SONIA Quilt

Finished size: Crib approx 38" x 48", Throw approx 60" x 60"

Sonia is a fun, quick, dynamic pattern that can vary greatly depending on what decisions you make. It was named after one of my favorite artists, Sonia Delaunay, whose graphic, colorful work first inspired me to be an artist.

For me, the perfect quilt pattern is one that is fun to make and allows plenty of room for playing around and making decisions unique to your individual vision. This pattern looks completely different depending on what color scheme you use, how the blocks are rotated, and how the sashing is pieced and placed.

Sonia might look complicated, but it’s a breeze to put together. The piecing is done with a basic stack and whack technique, so it comes together really quickly. I would love to see what you come up with. When your quilt is finished,
please consider sharing it on Facebook or Instagram and tagging @kimemquilts.
